Getting around: Although a few restaurants lie within several blocks of the hotel, a car is necessary to travel to main shopping, dining, and entertainment areas as well as other visitor attractions.
Driving the area’s main arteries east-west (to both coasts) and north-south (Fort Lauderdale to Miami) is typically smooth and fast. Traffic is much slower along coastal A1A but A1A provides the best scenery.
Even more water views are enjoyed from the water taxis which stop along the Intracoastal Waterway and the New River into downtown Fort Lauderdale. Fares are $5–$15 per day. Fees subject to change without notice.
