Grand Bohemian, Downtown Orlando, A Kessler Hotel
What to expect: This award-winning hotel draws business travelers and vacationers. The hotel is fronted by a small Euro-lobby featuring black columns, black and white marble, a barrel-vault ceiling lined with tiny Smalti Italian tiles, and a bronze sculpture by Larry Young. Designed by Austrian architect Hans Hollien, the hotel's Imperial Grand Bösendorfer Piano (one of two in existence) features gold-leaf inlays.
Amenity highlights: Festooned with blossoms and greenery, a sixth-floor pool deck houses a 45-by-22-foot lap pool; four-person spa tub, and an all-white, fabric-draped gazebo containing five glass-and-wrought-iron chandeliers. A short flight of stairs leads from the deck down to the Bohemian Gardens, a secluded arbor with tables.

The Peabody Orlando
What to expect: The stylish, 27-story Peabody Orlando is adjacent to the Orange County Convention Center on attraction-lined International Drive. J.J. Mallard, the Peabody Duck, is depicted in the foyer’s floor mosaic. Guests watch ducks at play in the fountain each afternoon in the atrium lobby, with its stately palm trees, exotic orchids, waterfall, and original art.
Amenity highlights: A two-level outdoor patio area includes a 180-foot lap pool, a children’s pool with waterfall, a spa tub, and a poolside bar. Four tennis courts are lighted for night play. Captain’s Choice Golf Services provides preferred tee times, club rentals, and transportation to area courses (surcharges). Insider Tip: Each day at 11 AM, the Peabody Ducks exit the Royal Duck Palace on the third floor and make their way to the atrium lobby and the Royal Duck Fountain, escorted by the Royal Duck Master. The ducks return to their home at 5 PM. Guests can be honorary Duck Masters for the day by making a request to the hotel prior to their arrival (subject to availability).

Casual and fine-dining options are available on-site. Guests also enjoy horse-drawn carriage rides on Saturdays (surcharge).
Insider tip: Shingle Creek, headwaters to the Florida Everglades, borders the trees that surround the resort’s golf course. Wildlife can be seen at the creek.
