The Richmond Hotel has an outdoor pool, half moon-shaped spa tub, and beach access. The café serves breakfast until mid-afternoon, and a front porch has a nightly bar. A small, private patio on the fifth floor is available for all guests. Two meeting rooms have wood floors and tables, and a third has been restored to resemble a vintage movie theater, with original Art Deco sofas and chairs, and a 100-inch screen.

Rooms
This six-story Miami Beach hotel has 92 guestrooms. Rooms are decorated in a low-key Deco style. Beds have blond oak headboards and all-white bedding, with built-in shelves and silver bedside lamps. Richmond Hotel rooms include armchairs, large mirrors, faux-1930s clock radios, and Deco-inspired floor lamps. Closets include red umbrellas, safes, and bathrobes. On the walls are framed, enlarged prints of Miami Beach postcards, circa 1940.
Small bathrooms have original tiling. Silver rolling trays hold beach towels and hair dryers. Climate control is rather quaint, with old-fashioned dials that open air vents to central air-conditioning (the hotel was one of the first to install air conditioning after WWII). Views are of Collins Avenue, surrounding hotels, the hotel courtyard and pool, or the beach and ocean.

Driving directions from Miami International Airport: Exit the airport and merge onto SR-112/Airport Expy N. Stay on SR-112 through the toll booth. Continue east on I-195. Continue east on Arthur Godfrey Rd/W 41st St. Turn right (south) onto SR-A1A/Indian Creek Dr and continue to Collins Avenue and the hotel.
Getting there: Taxis, rental cars, and shuttle vans are the most common means of airport transfer. Transportation options are available on the ground level of the airport terminal, outside the baggage-claim area. Shuttle service to the hotel costs $16–$25. Taxi fare to the hotel is $26–$35. Rental cars are available and can be reserved online. The hotel has valet parking; street parking is available in this area but can be hard to find. Guests can self-park in the same garage the hotel uses, which is two blocks away. All rates are subject to change.
Getting around: Walking is a popular way to navigate South Beach; parking can be difficult. Located on the beach and three blocks from Lincoln Road, the hotel is within walking distance of most South Beach sites and attractions. Taxis are another easy way to get around Miami Beach and points in Miami, and a typical taxi ride within South Beach should not cost more than $5–10. Public buses and the Electrowave Shuttle serve tourist areas in Miami Beach (less than $5) but travelers may wait awhile. Travelers headed into downtown Miami will want to drive or take a taxi.
